Guy Rouleau joins Conscience Board of Directors as Chair

Conscience is pleased to welcome Guy Rouleau to its Board of Directors, where he will serve as Chair.

Dr. Rouleau is Director of the Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital (The Neuro) and co-founder of the Tanenbaum Open Science Institute (TOSI), where he has helped establish one of the world’s leading examples of open science in practice within biomedical research.

A clinician-scientist with decades of experience in neurogenetics, Dr. Rouleau has contributed to major advances in understanding the genetic basis of neurological and psychiatric conditions, helping to bridge fundamental discovery with clinical impact. Alongside his scientific work, he has been a leading advocate for more open, collaborative approaches to research that accelerate discovery and better serve patients.

As Chair, Dr. Rouleau’s leadership in implementing open science at scale, combined with his deep experience across academic research, clinical practice, and innovation systems, will bring valuable perspective to Conscience’s work. As the organization continues to advance new models for open, responsible drug discovery, his insight will help guide efforts to ensure that scientific progress translates into accessible and equitable health solutions.

“I have long believed that open science is essential to accelerating discovery and delivering meaningful benefits to patients, and I have seen firsthand how collaboration and openness can transform the pace and impact of scientific progress,” says Dr. Rouleau. “Conscience is building a model that brings these principles to drug discovery and development, and I look forward to contributing as Chair of the Board of Directors to help strengthen and expand this work.”

Conscience warmly welcomes Dr. Rouleau to the Board and looks forward to working under his leadership to expand the role of open science in delivering meaningful impact for patients and society.

Conscience extends its sincere thanks to Dr. Anke Mueller-Fahrnow for her leadership and contributions during her tenure as Chair, which have helped shape the organization’s growth to date.
