Conscience Symposium on Open Drug Discovery – Submission and registration are open!

Mon, Apr 07, 2025 - Tue, Apr 08, 2025

Registration is now open for the second annual Conscience Symposium on Open Drug Discovery! Join us at the Society for Arts and Technology in Montreal on April 7-8, 2025, for two days of insightful talks, impactful discussions, and collaboration in open and AI-driven drug discovery.

We’re committed to making this event accessible to all. That’s why we’re offering significantly reduced registration fees for students and postdocs throughout the registration period and Early Bird discounts for all attendees—available until January 31, 2025. Register now to secure your spot at this exciting event!

At Conscience, we see a future where we can use AI and open science to create the medicines we need to treat rare diseases, fight antimicrobial resistance, and prepare for the next pandemic. This two-day event brings together the people building that future.

We’ll feature talks and workshops highlighting how open science can enable a new path for drug discovery from target identification to preclinical development. You can look forward to:

  • Highlights from our CACHE Challenges and lessons learned about the state of the art in the field
  • Initiatives and projects building the datasets, benchmarks, and models paving the way for AI-assisted drug discovery
  • Companies and collaborations working outside traditional intellectual property models to discover and develop drugs without patents
  • Opportunities to meet new collaborators and learn how open science strategies can enhance your work
  • Much more to come!

Join us for two days of talks, panels, and workshops showcasing how openness is already driving the discovery of potential medicines and enabling their development. Together, we’ll also explore the biggest challenges and unanswered questions that must be addressed to create a thriving open drug discovery ecosystem.

More information about the program, registration, and abstract submission are available on the event website, which will be updated regularly.

Abstract submission and flash talks

Are you working on a project that involves open science, AI-assisted drug design, and/or drug discovery? Submit an abstract for the opportunity to present a three-minute flash talk at the symposium.

The flash talks will take place at the end of the first day of the symposium, just before the cocktail and networking reception. Each flash talk presenter will be assigned a numbered table at the reception, during which attendees can find and engage with presenters. Presenters are encouraged to bring handouts or a laptop/tablet to aid discussions (similar to a poster session, but without the posters!). A prize will be awarded to the best flash talk presenter during the closing remarks on the second day of the symposium.

Abstract submission will be open from January 15 to March 7, 2025. Please visit the Submission page for detailed instructions on how to apply.
