Get to Know Our Partnerships Lead, Lauriane

We are excited to share a new podcast episode featuring Lauriane Gorce, Conscience’s Partnerships Lead, on Papa PhD, which aims to help students thrive beyond academia. Lauriane met David at a networking event and joined the podcast to share her journey and insights on finding a fulfilling career that balances societal impact, work, and personal happiness.

“I deeply believe in the great potential of the youth and of students! I’m honored to have had this opportunity to tell them how much I believe in them. I hope this podcast will inspire them to hold on to their dreams, contribute to society, and enjoy themselves in the process”, says Lauriane.

In this episode, Lauriane opens up about her alignment with her current role at Conscience, a place where she feels her values are in sync with her work. She talks about the guiding principles that have shaped her career and life choices:

  • Follow your heart and dream big. Lauriane emphasizes the importance of embracing bold ambitions without self-censorship.
  • Strive to be wiser every day. She discusses the importance of continuously learning and applying her skills and knowledge in meaningful ways.
  • Make decisions based on hope, not fear. Lauriane shares how this mindset has led her to seize opportunities that align with her values.
  • Enjoy the process and learn from every experience. She shares that even the most challenging experiences have presented valuable learning opportunities for her.

In Lauriane’s own words, in both the academic and working worlds, the criteria for success are always external. “Other people decide that this is the way it’s going to be. But it’s also important to think about what I want. What’s important to me? What’s essential? We only have one life, and it’s precious. What do I want to do with it? […] It’s so important to connect with what our little inner voice is asking for and dreaming of. In the world of work, there’s such a wide variety of things you can do. You need a kind of inner compass to orient yourself.”

We invite you to listen to Lauriane’s story (in French) and gain insight into some of the values that drive her work at Conscience. Thank you, David Mendes, for inviting Lauriane to share her experience and wisdom with your audience!
