Working With Us
Our team at Conscience brings years of experience in drug discovery, establishing and managing open science partnerships, developing open science principles and policies, and advising on regulatory and commercialization strategies in biotechnology.
Whether you’re exploring how open science can strengthen your work, seeking guidance on intellectual property strategies, or planning a new collaboration, we can help you navigate the challenges and opportunities of working openly.
Free Open Science Guidance Consultations
Network members (become a member) are entitled to a free 1hr consultation with our Advisory Services Lead, Dylan Roskams-Edris, and/or our Chief Policy and Partnerships Officer, Richard Gold, during which we will talk through your questions about open science, identify relevant resources, and connect you with the right expert to help you on your open science journey.
Request a free consultation by filling out this form with your contact information and a brief description of the topics you would like to talk about.
After the initial consultation, we will follow up via email with a summary of our conversation, including information about relevant Conscience programs and contacts as well as other open science projects or best practices.
Consultation Services
You can also hire Conscience to consult with you on integrating open science into your projects and organizations. We will be happy to work with you on finding the best way to engage with us, whether that’s hiring us directly, getting guidance on writing our services into grants, or partnering with us on funding applications. Our team offers tailored consultation services in areas such as:
Community Building and Engagement
Open science unlocks the potential of research communities by enabling members to rapidly share knowledge and build on each other’s insights. Successful communities don’t happen by accident though. They need shared understanding practices, clear norms, clarity on what and how to contribute, and recognition of how participation can impact professional advancement.
Conscience can help with each of these elements. We have experience engaging with community members to understand needs, barriers, and misconceptions of open science and in translating that insight into guiding principles. We can also help you develop strategies and resources that strengthen participation and support an open science culture.
Best Practices, Compliance, and Implementation
To get the most out of open science, you need to navigate best practices and translate them into actionable outcomes. Conscience can guide you through the often confusing world of best practices in partnership and collaboration formation, intellectual property and risk management, and effective sharing of research outputs. We can work with you to develop an implementation plan tailored to your needs and help you put it into practice.
Sustainability
Many open science projects start strong but falter without the resources or people to sustain them. Conscience can help you plan for the long term by developing business models, funding proposals, resource management plans, and sustainability strategies to ensure that your project continues to deliver impact.
