OECD Workshop on Open Science and Innovation Partnerships

Mon, Apr 13, 2026 - Tue, Apr 14, 2026

In partnership with Conscience and The Translational Initiative to De-risk NeuroTherapeutics (TRIDENT), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is hosting a virtual workshop, Open Science and Innovation Partnerships (OSIPs), taking place April 13–14, 2026. This invitation-only event will bring together representatives from government, philanthropy, industry, and academia to explore how open science partnerships can be structured and managed to accelerate discovery while enabling real-world innovation. A limited number of online listening spots are available, and registration to attend via Zoom is currently open. Due to limited capacity, early registration is recommended.

Online attendance registration deadline: April 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST

Workshop focus
Drawing primarily on lessons from the health sector, the workshop will examine how to design OSIPs that balance openness with commercialization considerations. Discussions will address:

  • The evidence supporting OSIPs and how these partnerships translate data, tools, and knowledge into innovation
  • Best practices for governance and success, including approaches to data sharing, intellectual property, and exclusivity
  • The role of government in enabling and supporting open science and innovation partnerships

Given TRIDENT and Conscience’s commitment to open science, cross-sector collaboration, and translational impact, this workshop offers valuable insights into emerging policy directions, partnership models, and practical approaches that may inform our current and future initiatives.

Note that this event will take place in the CET timezone.
